This Month:
This month will include a variety of science topics for third graders! We will start by finishing our unit on simple machines. We will visit the StarLab for two weeks right after spring break, and then jump into an experiment about force and motion.
Home Connection(s):
- Challenge your student to find simple machines in their daily lives.
- On a weekend, challenge your student to stay up late enough to find Orion the Hunter in the night sky. We focus on finding the 3 stars in a row that make up his belt first, and then identify the rest of his body.
Upcoming Events:
- StarLab will be at Old Union from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27. Please make sure your student wears or brings socks to school on their Science Lab days, as students are required to remove their shoes prior to entering StarLab. Shoes that are easy on/easy off are preferred. :)
