This Month:
This month will start with a focus on energy -- we're learning about conductors, insulators, and circuits. After spring break, we'll take our turn in the traveling planetarium, StarLab. In StarLab, students will get a chance to see constellations and hear stories about the stars that have been passed on for many years.
Home Connection(s):
- If you have a light bulb, some tin foil, and a battery laying around, encourage your child to use the materials to make the bulb light up.
- On a weekend, challenge your student to stay up late enough to find Orion the Hunter in the night sky. We focus on finding the 3 stars in a row that make up his belt first, and then identify the rest of his body.
Upcoming Events:
- StarLab will be at Old Union from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27. Please make sure your student wears or brings socks to school on their Science Lab days, as students are required to remove their shoes prior to entering StarLab. Shoes that are easy on/easy off are preferred. :)
